A tasting with Juan Jurado

The former sommelier and now winegrower, based in Sanlúcar with vineyards in the Miraflores estate, presents the range of wines he makes under his brand Agrícola Calcárea.

Sonorama Festival

For those on holiday or visiting wineries in Castile and León, Aranda de Duero is hosting a new edition of Sonorama, a festival featuring performances by 150 artists including Crystal Fighters, Iván Ferreiro, La Pegatina, Guitarrica De la Fuente, Rigoberta Bandini, Nacho Vegas, Ramoncín, Ladilla Rusa, Sexy Cebras, Niña Polaca, Carlos Ares, Ojete Calor, Love of Lesbian and Leiva, amongst others. As well as wine bars serving Ribera del Duero wines within the festival grounds, there will also be wine-tasting sessions.

A tasting with Richi Arambarri

The owner of Vintae, one of the most dynamic and innovative wine-producing groups since its inception in the 2000s, will be in Sanlúcar to host a tasting of some of the wines they produce in Rioja.

Boviño Wine Fest

The aim of this event is to showcase the wines, cuisine and region of Barbanza, in A Coruña. On Thursday 6th, there's a presentation of Adega Cazapitas in Pazo de Martelo in Rianxo. On Friday 7th, at the Entre os Ríos winery in A Pobra, visitors can enjoy a tour of the vineyards, a tasting of gourmet preserves and a concert by Calequi and Las Panteras. On Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th, the ‘wine tunnel’ will take place at the Pazo de Goiáns, featuring over 50 wines with Protected Geographical Indications (PGIs) from Galicia, alongside performances by A Banda de Balbina and Carlos Blanco. Villa de Viñas

An event that combines wine and cultural heritage, beginning with a visit to the Roman archaeological site of Santa Criz and continuing with a wine pairing featuring wines from Bodega Eslava, Baja Montaña Viñedos y Bodegas, and Bodegas Tarón from Rioja Alta as the guest producer. The organizers also provide a bus service, departing from Pamplona at 18:00 and returning at 23:00

Tomelloso Wine Festival

The 14th Tomelloso Wine Festival will bring together Verum, Casaquemada and Virgen de las Viñas, with the three wineries showcasing their wines to visitors. Alongside the wine tastings, the programme includes live music by Enrique Reviriego and a dedicated children's and youth area with activities for families.

Selosse according to Melendo

The journalist and writer Jordi Melendo will be the master of ceremonies at this tasting, where guests will have the opportunity to sample single-vineyard sparkling wines from one of Champagne’s most respected winegrowers.

See You in the Bars - Exhibition

Sua Muka is hosting a new exhibition by Dan Feit (London, 1985), an artist now based in San Sebastián after more than a decade working in London. See You in the Bars brings together a series of ink drawings portraying some of the city's most iconic bars and the people who bring them to life. The exhibition runs until the end of September.

Chuchi Soto and his daughter Sara, of SotoManrique, present the wines they produce in Gredos and, more recently, in Mahína, Sanlúcar.

Solar eclipse at Clos Mogador

To coincide with this historic eclipse, Clos Mogador will host an outdoor dinner at the vineyard, where guests will be able to sample some of its Priorat wines, such as Nelín, Clos Mogador, Gratallops Roseta and Manyetes. There will be live music and eclipse-viewing glasses will be provided.

Solar eclipse at Bodegas La Horra

To celebrate this historic solar eclipse, Bodegas La Horra – which lies within the path of complete eclipse – is hosting an evening event featuring a guided tasting of Corimbo and Corimbo I, certified eclipse glasses, a gourmet dinner served at the table, live music and a bottle of Corimbo for every two people.

Solar eclipse in Perelada

The Alt Empordà estate will host an event to view the eclipse on its grounds, featuring guidance and advice from Josep Maria “Pia” Lagares, a certified astronomy instructor, a gourmet afternoon snack featuring Catalan specialities (cured meats, bread with tomato and coca), wine, grape juice for the children and live music. The event will coincide with the Perseid meteor shower, which peaks on 14 August.

Solar eclipse in Castell del Remei

To mark the historic solar eclipse, Castell del Remei has organised Eclipsi Solar Sound, a day-long event combining electronic music, wine, food and the chance to witness the astronomical phenomenon in a natural setting. The programme features performances by national and international DJs, tastings of wines from Castell del Remei, Tomàs Cusiné, Cérvoles and Cara Nord, food, chill-out areas and dedicated eclipse viewing spaces. Alongside the standard ticket, visitors can also choose packages that include a guided winery tour and wine tasting, lunch at the estate restaurant, priority access and VIP experiences.

Solar eclipse at Bodegas Protos

To mark the solar eclipse, Bodegas Protos has created a wine tourism experience combining a guided tour of its historic underground cellars and the winery designed by Richard Rogers, a tasting of four wines, a special menu at the Ágora de Protos restaurant and eclipse viewing from the vineyard with certified eclipse glasses.

Solar eclipse at Vivanco

Bodegas Vivanco has created an experience combining a guided tour of its museum and winery with wine tastings, an educational talk on the eclipse by a Starlight destination specialist, and a six-course lunch paired with the estate's premium wines. The day concludes with eclipse viewing from Vivanco's gardens, specially prepared for the occasion and set among the vineyards, accompanied by live music and other activities.

Solar eclipse in Rioja Alavesa

Bodegas Valdelana, in Elciego, launches Eclipse by Valdelana in the Garden of Varieties, the winery's viewpoint overlooking the River Ebro, where guests can enjoy a wine bar, signature cocktails, a DJ set at sunset and dinner under the stars. 18:00–23:00. At Marqués de Riscal, also in Elciego, the evening begins with a welcome drink accompanied by live jazz, followed by a talk on the eclipse by Roberto Baena, coordinator of UNIR's Master's degree in Astronomy, before a cocktail dinner created by Francis Paniego. 19:30–00:45. Bodegas Baigorri, in Samaniego, combines live music at sunset, a selection of premium wines and a gourmet cocktail-style dinner designed to be enjoyed outdoors as the sky changes colour. 19:00–23:00. Casa Primicia, in Laguardia, starts with a tour of its medieval winery in the historic centre before moving to the Carravalseca vineyards, where guests enjoy an informal vineyard dinner. The experience includes certified eclipse glasses and a gift of four bottles of wine per person. 17:00–21:30. Bodegas JF Iradier, in Samaniego, offers a tour of its 17th-century historic winery and a guided wine tasting before the highlight of the evening: watching the eclipse from the estate's vineyards, accompanied by a local aperitif and observation equipment. From 18:30.

Enoteca Calcárea

Roman chef Alfredo Chirizzi will be at Calcáreo with a menu of Italian dishes, accompanied by a selection of Italian wines and music chosen by the Italian chef. It will not be a ‘fixed’ menu; guests will be able to choose their dishes and even have seconds.

Valenciso Blanco Vertical Tasting

One of the most interesting activities on this month’s Valenciso Experiences programme for wine lovers is this vertical tasting of Valenciso white wine, led by Luis Valentín, who founded the Rioja winery alongside Carmen Enciso. Afterwards, three pinchos from La Arboleda will be served alongside the Valenciso Selección Especial 2020.

O Son dos Colleiteiros Festival

The Colleiteiros do Ribeiro and Artisanal Viticulture Association of Galicia is holding a new edition of Son do Colleiteiro, a festival that brings together wine and music at the wineries and vineyards of small-scale Ribeiro producers. The festival comes to a close today with a free-entry romería (traditional Galician festival) in Ribadavia's Alameda, featuring traditional Galician music, local food and wines from producers including Pousadoiro, Xulia Bande, Boas Vides, Adega do Eladio and Mauro Estévez, among others.

Wine tasting at the Biazteri 1974 cellar

Joaquín Campoy, sommelier at this restaurant in Laguardia, in Rioja Alavesa, explores three vintages of three wines to discover how time transforms each bottle. The wines are Villamarta 2013, 2014 and 2015; El Notario by Macanudo 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022; and San Cayetano 2022 and 2023.
