On a fizz-filled day, the town of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia will host Territori Efervescent, a showroom for Catalan sparkling wines from emerging producers, whose names will be revealed shortly. A roadshow organised by the Navarra Designation of Origin (DO Navarra) that tours various Spanish cities to showcase just how much there is still to discover about Navarra’s wines. The event includes meet-and-greets with wineries, professional showrooms, gastronomy, music and experiences open to the public. After Bilbao, Navarra On Tour will continue its tour of the Iberian Peninsula with stops in Madrid (19 October) and Gijón (9 November).

Rioja is one of those regions that everyone thinks they know, yet which has never stopped evolving. In 2019, one of the most renowned winemaking figures in 21st-century Rioja, Jesús Madrazo, launched his personal project in both Rioja and Ribera del Duero. Today, he presents a collection of the most notable vintages from his ‘Selección Jesús Madrazo’ range in both regions.

José Mas, winemaker at Costers del Priorat and a Master of Wine candidate, presents a tasting dedicated to the wines of the Costers – those landscapes of steep slopes where viticulture is shaped by the terrain.

Perelada celebrates the end of the harvest with a range of wine-related activities, from Tasta Swing on the golf course and grape-seed massages at the spa to a special visit to the Castle Museum. These are complemented by wine and food tastings, a local produce market, live music and entertainment for all ages.

El Lagar de Burgos wine shop, run by Paco Berciano and Maribé Revilla, together with Alma Vinos Únicos, hosts its annual show featuring producers such as Remelluri, Roda, Pago de Carraovejas, Gramona, Algueira, Luis Anxo Rodríguez, César Márquez, Cellar Pardas, Familia Peyrí and Arrelats, amongst many others. The Terras do Navia PGI, located in villages such as Negueira, A Fonsagrada and Navia de Suarna, in Lugo province, is organising an event to showcase its white wine variety. The programme includes a round-table discussion moderated by Jose Crusat, featuring Xose Antonio Meixide, Adrián Fernández, Roberto Regal and Mariña Fernández; two white wine tastings led by Mariña; and a tour of the vineyards. There will also be a lunch, for which registration is required.

Cata de Territorios is an event organised by Subsierra, the association of producers from the Sonsierra region in Rioja, to foster dialogue between wine-producing projects with a distinct territorial identity. For this edition, the guest region will be VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter), the historic German association of estates known for its work on provenance, quality and vineyard classification. During the event, there will be two masterclasses in English: 12:00: Old Vines, Great Sites – How old vines shape world-class wines and at 13:30: Can you taste limestone?

A new edition of the Rioja Alavesa Wine Run is taking place in Samaniego, with three categories: two races – one 10km and one 20km – and a 10km fun walk along paths and trails surrounded by vineyards. After the event, there will be a fair showcasing local wines and traditional local produce.

More than 85 producers from 13 different countries will be attending the Madrid edition of this natural wine fair, where visitors will be able to taste over 500 different wines.
