This wasn’t a particularly good vintage. In fact, Muga didn’t produce its top reds Torre Muga and Prado Enea in 2012, so the best grapes were destined to Selección Especial. This is a serious, deep red with ripe fruit and a delicate, floral note (dry roses) on the background. Its good structure and acidity are very much in line with the house’s style. 93 points
