What makes this wine so original is the fact that it has recovered the traditional recipe used until the 1980s. A small amount of Manzanilla from Sanlúcar de Barrameda is included in the blend and part of the wine is aged in the Sherry casks where the wine was transported. It starts just like another Rioja white but the palate develops towards salty, nutty flavours with a distinctive pungency onthe finish. It will be interesting to see how it develops with time. 91 points
