The Reserva Especial usually follows an oxidative style, yet this blend, released in 2018, includes relatively recent vintages in contrast with the traditional style of the house. Mature nose with liquorice and fruit jam notes (the mark of the 2005 vintage) but also the austere character of 2007 and some nuttiness. Surprisingly, the palate is vibrant and juicy with a particularly long finish. A beautiful oddity. 18.0 points
