2014 is a vintage to follow in the Duero valley given the almost perfect ripe fruit energetically coming through. Sweet plum notes balanced with depth and power and sexy, exuberant fruit. A round palate with delicious preserve fruit, velvety texture, wrapped-up tannins and fine toasted notes. It’s worth looking for the 2014 Abadía Retuerta’s single-vineyard Tempranillo. 17.5 points
