This was a difficult vintage requiring some extra cellaring to tame tannins. The nose is expressive and fragrant with cocoa and minty notes, but the grippy tannins make it less approachable on the palate. The wine has enough structure and fruit to develop and improve in bottle. It would be interesting to retaste it in two to three years’ time. 16.5 points
