More and more producers in Bierzo are paying attention to Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet) and adding single-varietal reds to their ranges. As is the case in Pobladura, 50% of this wine was aged in amphorae and 50% in 500-litre barrels. Preserved fruit, orange zest and inky aromas are followed by a serious, full-bodied palate with some herbaceous notes. Tannins are quite obvious now but this wine is impeccably made and shows real character. Best to give it some time to settle. 16.5 points
