Perhaps 2005 is not as thrilling a vintage as 2004, but it still is outstanding and proves Cava’s capacity to stand the test of time like the best sparkling wines in the world. Astonishingly firm despite its extensive aging (over 100 months), the nose is complex with fine aniseed, bakery and petrol aromas followed by a powerful, well-defined palate and complex aging notes. Acidity keeps it alive and kicking. 94 points
