Part of Codorníu’s new high-end Ars Collecta range, grapes are sourced from a very cool area in Serralada de Prades, in Conca de Barberà (Tarragona). This is a single-vineyard Cava growing on distinctive llicorella (slate) soils. Fine, subtle nose with stone fruit (medlar), red berry and toasty aromas. Broad, persistent palate but slightly rustic and bitter. Better wait and see how it develops in bottle. 16.5 points
