El Esquilón 2013 Tinto

Suertes del Marqués, Valle de la Orotava

This wine comes from the first plot bought by the García family 20 years ago. It has distinctive volcanic soils topped by clay and loam-sandy layers where vines grow at 450 to 550m of altitude. Given its northern exposure, it feels floral and scented, yet retaining the region’s earthy, volcanic character. Bright acidity with a persistent middle-palate rather than length, but in line with the whole Suertes del Marques’ range. 16.5 points
