This is La Emperatriz’s top red. It comes from their oldest Tempranillo bush vines with ages ranging from 65 to 70 years old. Dark ruby colour. Lots of dark fruit on the nose with a mineral edge (graphite). Pretty powerful on the palate with firm but supple tannins and good acidity. There’s finesse in this wine but it will probably be appreciated more clearly after some cellaring. 93 points
