This red wine comes from 50-year old vines that are let to ripen for longer than the entry-level Laya. Deep ruby colour. Very ripe dark fruit on the nose —it feels quite syrupy. Powerful and energetic palate with plenty of sweet fruit notes, tamed, well-integrated tannins and a slight bitterness on the finish that counterbalances the sweet fruit. Hardly a crowd-pleaser, but with a character of its own. 16.0 points
