This wine comes from a vineyard planted by the grandfather on a terrace at 550 metres of altitude overlooking the River Ebro. He was described as “loco” (crazy) for planting in chalky, extremely poor soils. The wine is deep and mineral showcasing black fruit, ink and shoe polish aromas. Powerful on the palate, with bright acidity and an oaky feeling on the finish. Despite 2013 being a difficult vintage, this wine is like to develop beautifully over time. 16.5 points
