This wine comes from a 5Ha plot planted with Chardonnay by Jean Leon in 1967. It ferments and ages in 225-litre barrels, of which 60% are new, and undergoes partial malolactic fermentation. Dairy, infusion herbs, white and citrus fruit aromas with a buttery character. Slightly warm on the palate with well-integrated oak and citrus and toasty notes on the finish. Well-made and easy to drink but perhaps not a vintage to lay down. 90 points
