Viura is seen by many as a rather neutral white grape, but it is actually very well suited for oak-aging and can produce highly versatile balanced wines. Allende, which is fermented and aged in barrels for over a year, is a fine example within the category. Gold color with aniseed, white fruit and smoky aromas. A lively, well-defined, balanced and persistent white delivering ripe citrus notes that linger on the finish. 16.5 points
