With his tiny project in the rugged Axarquía region, winemaker Lauren Rosillo has pioneered wines made from the obscure red grape Romé. This vintage displays a deep red colour and intense fruit aromas (plums, blood oranges). There’s a fresh herbaceous, ligneous edge —likely to be the result of whole bunch fermentation— which adds an extra dimension. This is an oruginal, fruit-driven wine (red plums, pomegranate) with a marked acidity that leaves nobody indifferent. 93 points
