This is one of the single-vineyard wines in Emilio Moro’s top-of-the-range portfolio and comes from small parcels grown at high altitude on the plateau. Malleolus, by the way, is the Latin word for module, a Spanish word that refers to a small plot of land. Deep ruby colour. Powerful nose with lead pencil, kirsch, ink and cocoa aromas. Very ripe fruit, orange skin and plenty of vainilla flavours. Somewhat extreme in its ripeness yet displaying these vineyards’ distinctive depth. 16.5 points
