Grapes are sourced from nine different plots in the village of Labastida (Rioja Alavesa) reflecting various soils, altitude and ripeness. The wine ferments in foudre and 500l. barrels. Peach skin aromas and smoky notes. There’s good ripeness and a rather warm character balanced by vibrant acidity that makes me think of some cellaring potential. A serious white wine with weight on the palate and a rather long finish. 16.5 points
