The wine explores Garnacha grown in the village of Badarán, in the Alto Najerilla Valley. Grapes are sourced from small plots (80-years old on average) with clay soils and a northern exposure. Half of the wine has been made in concrete eggs, the other half in oak. Welcome to Atlantic Rioja: evocative forest and infusion herb aromas with crisp red fruit (raspberry) on the background. This is an extremely fresh red, with plenty of tension and a distinctive white pepper character on the finish. 16.5 points
