Barrel-aged white Riojas deserve attention despite their small production. Wine lovers will be rewarded with diversity since almost each producer has his/her own style, like Valserrano, which goes for long aging times. This white wine displays distinctive hay, smoked, buttery and wax aromas. Oak is still noticeable on the palate, but there is plenty of acidity to keep it going for a long time, even if it is already a few years old, as it comes from the 2008 vintage. 16.5 points
