Ismael Gozalo is on of Spain's leading natural wine producers and this Microbio is always a consistent, safe bet. The only secret is that its grapes come from old, ungrafted Verdejo vines grown in Segovia (Castilla y León). The wine is fermented and aged in three old Mosel foudres of around 1,000 litres. The fact that one of them is from the previous vintage adds extra depth and complexity. Cloudy but fruit-driven (citrus, apricot), full of energy and with superb salinity on the finish. 17.0 points
