One of the ancient grape varieties recovered by Familia Torres to fight climate change, Pirene plants are grown at 950m elevation in Sant Miquel de Tremp (Lleida), the family's highest vineyard on the foothills of the Pyrenees. A first release, this is a scented, delicate, medium-bodied red with wild red berries, scrubland and honeyed aromas. The palate is silky with fine tanins and a long, spicy finish and a hint of warm stones. 17.5 points
