Facing northwards, El Rapolao is the coldest spot in Valtuille de Abajo and a very popular one thanks in no small part to Raúl Pérez, who has encouraged many producers to make their own Rapolaos. The Peique grapes are sourced from an 80-year-old plot at 520 to 550m elevation on red clay soils. The nose is rich, with hints of flowers, red berries, blueberries and bramble aromas. The palate combines plenty of sweet fruit with generous acidity. The tannins are firm but fine. A wine with punch. 17.0 points
