This Dorado is a descendant from the old fortified wines from Tierra de Medina that achieved renown in the 16th century. It comes from a very old solera which is refilled with wines that have been aged outdoors in glass demijohns. Whilst the packaging does not suggest a long tradition, the wine is indeed traditional. This is an opulent wine with nutty, dried stone fruit and toasted aromas. Comforting, balanced and very persistent. 17.5 points
