This wine offers a very good introduction to the Rufete variety grown in Sierra de Salamanca. Despite being in Castilla y León, it shares many similarities with Gredos (it is part of the western Central Range) rather than with the Duero Valley. Green mountains at high elevation and granite soils translate into a fragrant red with wild berries and herbal aromas. The palate has weight and persistence, aided by the presence of 20% stems. Pleasant and well made. 93 points
