This wine confirms how well Portuguese grape varities work in Extremadura in terms of producing fresher, expressive reds. It was fermented in concrete tanks and aged in 500-litres barrels and 5,000-litres foudres for 18 months. There's plenty of spiced fruit and some liqueur but it is not heavy at all. An energetic, pleasant medium-bodied red with a slight bitter note on the finish. 91 points
