This wine offers a good introduction to Prieto Picudo, the dominant red variety grown in DO León, and can be viewed as the exact opposite of Bierzo's Mencía due to its deep-colour and generous structure. Black fruit, herbal notes and charcoal aromas give way to a powerful palate with firm yet fresh, juicy tannins. With no oak to detract the variety’s features, this is a pure expression of Prieto Picudo. A good pairing for hamburgers and meat dishes. 16.0 points
