A renowned specialist in Gran Reserva, La Rioja Alta has made great efforts to keep this classic style alive. The excellent 2010 vintage is a terrific example of this category, showing amazing finesse. Liquor-soaked cherries, tea leaves, minty and spicy aromas are followed by a silky, sapid palate (think umami) finely delineated by acidity. This wine doesn't need of structure to stand out. A vintage to keep, give as a present and enjoy. 18.0 points
