Grapes in the 2017 vintage were sourced from two plots in Ollauri (Rioja Alta). The wine was exclusively aged in foudres resulting in a very approachable style. Tons of concentrated fruit (ripe plums and liquor-soaked cherries) tamed by gentle but firm tannins. Definitely more expressive than previous vintages but I would still give it some time in bottle. It will be interesting to see how these modern, elegant Riojas develop in 10 years' time. 17.0 points
