The name Cupani comes from an old synonym for Tempranillo which appeared in a 19th century viticulture treaty. The wine comes from a 3.5Ha, 35-year-old vineyard located on a north-facing clay-limestone slope at an elevation of 537 metres. This translates into a fresh, vibrant red with expressive fruit, tension and energy. A firm, solid, very well-made wine, which will develop nicely in bottle. The informative label is very much appreciated. 16.5 points
