Grapes used to be sourced from just one vineyard but the wine now includes many different old-vine plots in Valtuille de Abajo. A field blend of Mencía plus other red and white varieties are fermented together and aged in foudres and used barrels. Its wild forest notes are one of the area’s most distinctive features together with the crunchy, fresh fruit. As the grapes are fermented with stems, the wine has a slight tannic character that does not subtract any pleasure when drinking it. 16.5 points
