This is my favourite among Jean Leon’s experimental wines. Selected vines from the estate’s oldest vineyards planted in 1962 with cuttings brought from Château Palmer. Fermented in trunk-shaped concrete vats and aged in 225-litre French oak barrels. Fine, deep nose with red cherries and spices. Vibrant, elegant palate with ripe tannins and spicy on the finish. 91 points
