Ponte da Boga Albariño 2014 Blanco

It’s rather uncommon to find a single varietal Albariño in Ribeira Sacra, but this one is worth looking out for. With 20% of the wine fermented and aged in 500-litre Frech oak barrels, it displays well-defined aromas (green apple and lemon zest) with a whiff of white flowers. On the palate it manages to combine a solid structure with bright acidity. There’s more balance and accuracy here than in many Rias Baixas wines made on the tough 2014 vintage.
