Plácet de Valtomelloso 2017 Blanco

An interesting vintage of this 100% Viura from Mount Yerga (Rioja Oriental). Made by Álvaro Palacios, it is the only white in his portfolio of wines from Priorat, Bierzo and Rioja. Although it shows fine, white fruit aromas, the nose is set to gain complexity with some extra time in bottle. Not so the palate, which is already awesome, with vibrant acidity, smoked and sunflower seeds nuances and a deliciously briny, sapid, mouthwatering finish.
