Gratallops Vi de la Vila 2012 Tinto

Light garnet colour. Evocative aromas of pomegranate, rosemary, thyme; an earthy note is a reminder of Priorat's schist soils, but this isn't heavy at all, as it fills the palate with aroma rather than weight. Nice supple texture and long finish. Definitely Mediterranean style at its best. In my opinion, Gratallops, which is one of the new village names approved by Priorat's Regulatory Council a few years ago, is one of the most exciting reds in Álvaro Palacios's range at the moment.
