Finca La Emperatriz Terruño 2010 Tinto

Medium ruby colour. This is a complex and characterful red with strawberry jam, liquorice, and earthy notes on the background. Well-defined red fruit on the palate. It gives me the impression that there's less extraction and more finesse than in previous vintages. Although tannins are firm and noticeable, this is a pure and expressive Rioja. It clearly needs more time in bottle but there's great potential here.
