The Escondite del Ardacho range, named after a local lizard species that appears dressed as human on the label, is for wines sourced from old plots. Primarily Tempranillo, the Veriquete parcel is planted with 50- to 110-year-old vines on reddish sandstone loam soils. The wine is deep and beautiflully spiced, with marked minerality and firm but fine tannins. Well-made and really true to its origin, it will benefit from further cellaring to develop its full potential.
