Don’t be afraid to vigorously decant this red if it feels a bit reduced when you open it; young Mencía does benefit from aeration. Red forest berries aromas and a lovely palate with lots of sweet, crunchy fruit. It manages to be both unpretentious and delicious. A crowd-pleaser and a text-book example of how rewarding Mencía can be.
