Aalto PS 2010 Tinto

Aaltos’s top red uses the acronym PS which stands for Pagos Seleccionados (selection of plots). 2010 was a very good vintage in Ribera with grapes maturing slowly. Deep ruby with purple hue. Highly concentrated nose with mulberry and dark plum jam, liquorice and dark chocolate aromas. This is a powerful almost overwhelming red with bags of kirsch and dark chocolate flavors yet it boasts enough acidity to keep a balanced ensemble. Still young: it will need more time before it reaches its peak.
