Planeta Rioja International Wine Festival

The Centro de la Cultura del Rioja will host the third edition of this festival, bringing together more than 40 wineries from across Spain. The programme features themed tastings, gourmet food experiences, talks and panel discussions with leading figures from the wine world, alongside events ranging from science-themed comedy to live jazz performances. The festival will also host the presentation of the 3rd Planeta Rioja Awards, which recognise outstanding individuals and initiatives from across the wine industry.

Txakoli K5 – Tasting and snacks

Andrea, a wine maker at the K5 estate in Aia, near Getaria, will be at Calcáreo to present a range of wines and vintages from their production. She will also explain how Hondarrabi Zuri evolves over the years, how the climate and the hillside on which the vineyard is situated influence each vintage, and why this Atlantic txakoli completely debunks the myth that ‘it must be drunk in the same year’.

Mahasti Artean - Txakoli Festival

Mahasti Artean takes place every year to mark the end of summer and the start of the grape harvest. The festival, organised by the Bizkaiko Txakolina Designation of Origin and the Urkiola Rural Development Association, combines four experiences that blend culture, gastronomy and nature, with Bizkaia’s txakoli as the common thread. The wines of Alvaro Palacios

Álvaro Palacios is one of Spain’s most renowned winemakers, with a presence in Priorat, where he arrived in 1989; in El Bierzo, alongside his nephew Ricardo P. Palacios; and in Rioja Oriental, where he runs the family winery.
